WHAT IS SPARK?
The SPARK Youth Program is designed for those who have a keen interest or passion for the arts and is geared for students between the age of 9-17 years old.
What We Offer:
Acting Exploration: This is a 1.5 hour class where students get to explore different aspects of acting. This class is for students between the ages of 9 to 12 years of age. Students learn about the art of acting through exercises, activities and basic memorization and scene work. All classes end in a Final Showcase Recital.
Scene Study: This 2 hour class is an intermediate class for students between the age of 13 to 17 years of age. Student dive deeper into character development, script analysis and performance technique. Students will be partnered into scenes and implement the techniques they learn into practical scenes. All classes end in a Final Showcase Recital.
SPARK Productions (for ages 11-17): Each year we produce shows with our SPARK Youth Program. Productions can range from One Act Plays to full length productions. Acceptance into these productions are based on an audition process. There is not a fee associated with the productions specifically, but at times we bring in outside guest instructors who specialize in a required skill. For example, stage combat or accent work. If a workshop is required, Torchlight will cover half the cost and only charge the reduced rate. Click here for production information.
SPARK Camps: Every summer, the SPARK Youth Program offers week-long camps for students.
